More than a dozen fire crews have tackled a large moorland blaze that broke out in the Marsden area of West Yorkshire.
Crews were called at 13:30 GMT to reports of a fire near March Haigh Reservoir, West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (WYFRS) said, with 15 crews and support units deployed to the scene.
WYFRS said the blaze covered an area of 6 miles (10km) by 3 miles (5km), and was progressing in the direction of Greater Manchester in the Denholme area.
In an update at 19:20, the service said it had “withdrawn from the incident”.
The Fire Service had earlier said that flames were over 1.5m (4ft 11 ins) in some areas.
The public had been urged to avoid the area, including around the Castleshaw upper reservoir.
Crews from Meltham, Slaithwaite, Holmfirth, Skelmanthorpe, Todmorden and Halifax were among those which attended the scene.
There were no reports of any injuries.
