Local businesses and social enterprises can now apply for grants and technical support to implement sustainable practices

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is launching a pilot Green Support Scheme to support local businesses and social enterprises.

The initiative is designed to help organisations implement sustainable practices and reduce carbon emissions, creating a bespoke Carbon Reduction Action Plan.

What will you get?

As a participant in the programme, your business or social enterprise will receive

  • technical support to help reduce your carbon footprint
  • grant to help fund energy-efficient technologies and green initiatives
  • guidance on integrating energy-efficient technologies and practices
  • assistance with funding opportunities for green initiatives
  • improved environmental impact and potential cost savings

Scheme stages

The Green Support Scheme will be implemented in two stages

  • Stage 1 Technical Assistance – technical support to develop a Carbon Reduction Action Plan (CRP). If your application is successful, you will be appointed an industry expert to help you identify targeted interventions to reduce your carbon emissions and energy bills.
  • Stage 2 Competitive Grant – a grant aid will be available later in the year to help finance some of the interventions identified in the CRP (up to the value of £5,000 at a 70% intervention rate).

How to apply

Council has funding to support up to 50 businesses, therefore applications will be assessed on a first come, first served basis.

Applications are now open for Stage 1 of the Green Support Scheme. The Stage 2 will open in Autumn 2025.
