Vaclav Cerny is the subject of a police investigation after he appeared to soak Celtic fans with water as he celebrated Rangers’ late winner at Parkhead on Sunday.
Celtic last night also revealed that they have ‘raised concerns regarding members of the away team engaging with Celtic supporters with the relevant authorities’.
The winger started the game but had been replaced by Tom Lawrence five minutes before Hamza Igamane scored what proved to be the final goal in a 3-2 victory for the Ibrox men.
Leaping from his seat in the dugout after the Moroccan netted in the 88th minute, Cerny raced down the touchline spraying liquid from a bottle towards home supporters who were seated in the section of the main stand adjacent to the technical areas.
His actions sparked fury among Celtic fans, with police and security being forced to step in to calm things down. And Cerny, on loan from German side Wolfsburg this season, could now face further action over the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: ‘Officers received information and enquiries are ongoing.’

Ferguson and Cerny celebrate Igamane’s late winner at Celtic Park
Both Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers and his Rangers counterpart Barry Ferguson claimed they hadn’t seen anything untoward.
‘I didn’t see it,’ said Rodgers. ‘I think I went to the screen just to have a look at the goal.’
Ferguson added: ‘I was just concentrating on celebrating.
I didn’t see the incident, to be honest.’
The flashpoint came at the end of an incident-packed game which culminated in a win which saw the visitors cut Celtic’s lead at the top of the Premiership to 13 points.
Celtic released a statement, saying they had ‘raised concerns’ with the relevant authorities regarding issues on and off the pitch on Sunday.
A group of Celtic supporters had refused to be searched by the police ahead of the match and had been denied entry to the ground.
It read: ‘The club has received complaints regarding the policing operation concerning yesterday’s match, specifically events away from Celtic Park.
‘We are reviewing our supporters’ concerns and will be looking into these issues.
‘It is important that these matters are addressed and the Club will be engaging in discussions with supporters and Police Scotland to understand the circumstances and events.
‘With regards to the match at Celtic Park, we can also confirm that the club has raised concerns regarding members of the away team engaging with Celtic supporters with the relevant authorities.’
Rangers were contacted for comment.
