Angel Reese reveals ‘corny’ pickup lines men use to reach her on social media

Angel Reese has grown tired of the uncreative ways men reach out to her through social media messages.

In the latest episode of her Unapologetically Angel podcast, the WNBA star chatted with rapper Lady London about the corniest pickup lines they have received.

During their conversation, Reese addressed how men often use her height as pickup line material. However, she remains unimpressed by the uncreative attempts.

‘I feel like since I’m tall, the ‘climb the tree’ thing, that’s not cute,’ she said. ‘The ‘1-on-1 for your heart,’ that sucks… I feel like the tall jokes, that’s corny.’

Despite being a musician, Lady London said men have received a few hoops-related pickup lines.

‘I don’t play basketball, but I had somebody put a basketball [emoji] in a DM and say, ‘My ball rolled into your court,’ the rapper recalled.

Lady London added that intention and execution are key when asking them out.

‘Intention means nothing if execution is not present,’ Lady London explained. ‘I like something that’s well-thought-out, and I love somebody that has great attention to detail — [remembering] something that I may have mentioned once in passing.

‘Little stuff like that, it all counts, it all matters, and it just shows the type of partner that you plan to be,’ she added.

Reese’s dating preferences have been a constant topic on her podcast as she previously revealed she would not date a man shorter than her.

In December, guest Coco Jones asked the 6-foot-3 forward if she would date a ‘short guy’ before the LSU product shook her head.

‘No. No. I don’t know,’ Reese said. The rebounding machine tried to qualify her response, perhaps leaving the door open to non-towering suitors.

‘I have not [dated guys shorter than me],’ she said. ‘Let me just say I haven’t.’

After slightly retracting, Reese added, ‘I hear short guys treat you better.’

‘They have a lot to prove,’ the 5-foot-9 Jones replied after noting she has dated shorter men.

Reese’s height preference was previously discussed in September when she named a minimum four-inch difference as the requirement.

The 22-year-old formerly dated 6-foot-7 Florida State forward, Cam’Ron Fletcher, before Reese confirmed their split in March. After returning to the dating pool, Reese spoke about what she looks for while scouting for her next boyfriend.

‘Nah, he gotta be tall,’ the then-rookie said on her podcast. ‘Six-seven, six-eight.’

Reese’s first season in the WNBA was cut short with a wrist injury. She has since recovered and is playing with the Rose Basketball Club in the Unrivaled 3-on-3 league where she is averaging 10.1 points and 9.6 rebounds.
