Tilman Fertitta’s fancy yacht was docked outside the US Capitol not long after the Houston Rockets owner was reportedly eyed by President Donald Trump to be the US ambassador to Italy.
On Friday, Fertitta’s 77-meter, $150million Feadship Boardwalk was located in the tripoint connecting the Washington Chanel, Anacostia River, and Potomac Rivers converge outside the nation’s capital.
The yacht was most recently seen at Fernandina Beach on March 10 before docking in Washington, DC.
In December, CBS reported that Trump was expected to appoint the 67-year-old billionaire businessman to the ambassador position.
If nominated by Trump and confirmed by the Senate, Fertitta could follow similar appointments made during Trump’s first administration with New York Jets owner Woody Johnson (United Kingdom) and late Pittsburgh Steelers owner Dan Rooney (Ireland).
Following the news, Fertitta called the appointment an honor in a statement.

Fertitta made $2million in political donations to Trump and other Republican candidates since January 2023, according to filings reviewed by Front Office Sports.
As the chairman and CEO of Landry’s, Fertitta assembled an impressive portfolio that includes the Golden Nugget casinos, numerous hotels and restaurants, including Mastro’s Steakhouse and Catch Steak, luxury car dealerships, and hotels.
This adds to his ownership of the Rockets franchise, which he bought for $2.2billion in 2017.
In another report published in December, Fertitta expressed his interest in purchasing the NFL’s New Orleans Saints.
The Saints, owned by Gayle Benson, are not currently on the market.
‘I’ve always loved the New Orleans Saints, but (Benson) won’t sell them right now,’ Fertitta told the Houston Business Journal.
According to Forbes, Tillman’s net worth is an astounding $10.7b as of this writing, ranking him 236th in the real-time billionaires list.
