Kyle Juszczyk is being released by the San Francisco 49ers after eight seasons with the team, according to reports.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter claims 49ers chiefs informed Juszczyk on Monday night that his time in San Francisco is set to come to an end.
The nine-time Pro Bowler enjoyed a memorable stint with the Niners, making it to the Super Bowl on two occasions.
During their 31-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020, he became the first Harvard alumnus in history to score a touchdown in a Super Bowl, while also taking three catches for 39 receiving yards.
Juszczyk and the Niners made it back to the NFL’s showpiece game four years later, only to suffer another defeat to the Chiefs – and this time in even more agonizing fashion after a last-gasp Mecole Hardman Jr touchdown in overtime.
