Zack Baun has signed a new $51million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles following his Super Bowl heroics.
The linebacker was a key player for Philadelphia on their run to New Orleans, where the Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Baun caught a crucial interception from Patrick Mahomes during the dominant 40-22 victory at the Superdome. He was due to become a free agent.
‘The Bald Eagle is BACK,’ Philadelphia announced on social media. ‘We’ve agreed to terms to sign Zack Baun to a three-year deal through 2027.’
According to ESPN, the 28-year-old’s contract is worth $51m over the next three years, with $34m guaranteed. It makes him one of the highest-paid linebackers in the NFL.
The news comes a day after Saquon Barkley also committed his future to Philadelphia.

On Tuesday, it was revealed that the Eagles are rewarding the star running back with a two-year, $41.2million extension which includes $36million guaranteed at signing.
Barkley will become the first running back with an average annual salary of over $20million a year, and he still has a chance to earn $15million in incentives from the initial deal he signed last year.
Barkley, after being allowed to walk by the Giants, signed a three-year, $37.75million deal with their NFC East rivals.
That proved a bargain as he flourished behind a dominant offensive line and finished the regular season with 2,005 yards.
