A large cordon has been placed around Nottingham Castle due to a “police incident”.
Officers have closed a number of roads and footpaths leading to the landmark in the city centre, with forensic officers at the scene.
Nottinghamshire Police warned of closures in Hounds Gate, Maid Marian Way, Standard Hill and Lenton Road in a statement on social media on Saturday morning.
The force has been contacted for further information about the nature of the incident.
Nottingham Castle is currently not open to the public while investigations take place.
A notice on the castle website states: “Nottingham Castle is closed temporarily on Saturday 1 March 2025 due to road closures in the area.
“Please check our website for updates throughout the day.”
