After falling short of becoming the first team in NFL history to clinch a Super Bowl three-peat, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was comforted by girlfriend and pop superstar Taylor Swift.
In Travis’ return to the ‘New Heights’ podcast with brother Jason Kelce, the Chiefs star revealed how Swift helped him through the aftermath of the defeat.
When asked by Jason if he listens to ‘sad music’ when he’s feeling down, Travis replied, ‘Jason, the only way you can find yourself in the light is to find yourself in the dark first. Right. I listen to music that is very telling of my mood.’
While Jason said he listens to ‘sad country songs’ when he’s in the dumps, Travis has a different take.
‘I just listen to Taylor’s music,’ Travis said of the Eras Tour performer, 35. ‘She has something for everything.’
Jason replied, ‘That’s fair. That’s a good point. No matter what mood, you can find some Taylor music.’

Kelce and the Chiefs were demolished in Super Bowl LIX by the Philadelphia Eagles

Kelce still says that he hasn’t made a decision about whether or not he’ll return to play in 2025
Swift watched Travis and the Chiefs from a suite at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans as they fell in devastating fashion to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.
It’s similar to when Travis appeared during many of Swift’s shows on her ‘Eras Tour’ throughout the past two years.
This is not the first episode of the podcast in the aftermath of the Super Bowl defeat, with Travis opening up in the first show they dropped after the loss.
‘I have a beautiful life,’ Travis told Jason on an episode from February 9. ‘I have a beautiful life, man. I have loved ones.
‘I have the most amazing family in the world that supports me in everything that I do, and they were all there, you know, cheering me on and hoping for the best on Sunday.’
Meanwhile, the biggest story surrounding Travis is whether or not he’ll be back and playing in the NFL next season.
In an episode from February 12, Travis said, ‘I know everybody wants to know whether or not I’m playing next year, and right now, I’m just kicking everything down the road. I’m not making any crazy decisions.’
While his future is shrouded in something of a mystery, Chiefs general manager Brett Veach believes he knows what Kelce’s choice is.
When asked on a podcast if the tight end would be suiting up in 2025, Veach replied, ‘I think so. We anticipate Travis being back. We’re excited to have Travis back.’
