A lip-reading expert has revealed what Erling Haaland has allegedly told Gabriel after the defender was seen laughing in the face of the Manchester City striker as Arsenal won by 5-1 at the Emirates Stadium.
Tension between the players arose after Martin Odegaard opened the lead for the Gunners, and the Brazilian was spotted running to his team-mates to celebrate the goal.
The 27-year-old stopped along the way to mock the Norwegian – an act of revenge after Haaland threw a ball at Gabriel’s head in the dramatic 2-2 draw in September 2024.
The Brazilian had the best opportunity to do so, as his side was clearly outperforming the opposition, punishing the Citizens for their multiple defensive and passing errors from the back.
The Norwegian striker was booed and jeered before and during Sunday’s game, and a lip-reader revealed the conversation the two players had during the game.
Speaking to JeffBet, forensic lip reader Nicola Hickling claimed that Haaland said: ‘Don’t forget it. Look at it’, while poiting to his Premier League winner’s badge.

The Norwegian striker was also spotted showing off his Premier League winners’ badge to Arsenal fans as the Gunners played Kendrick Lamar’s track HUMBLE at the stadium
According to Hickling, the Norwegian added: ‘Don’t forget it. You’d love this, eh? Don’t forget it, yeah.’
The gesture comes after Arsenal came second to the Citizens in two seasons in a row. Currently, they are six points behind Liverpool, the top team in the league.
In the last campaign, the Gunners lost their hopes of a Premier League triumph in the final game of the season, finishing two points below City.
At full-time on Sunday, Arsenal mocked Haaland using their stadium sound system to play the famous rapper Kendrick Lamar’s track HUMBLE after the Norwegian previously told manager Mikel Arteta to ‘stay humble’ during a row.
Despite a disappointing performance on a collective level, Haaland managed to equalise with a header after a cross from Savinho in the 55th minute.
However, the Citizens’ hopes were destroyed after Thomas Partey gave the 2-1 lead to his side following an error from Phil Foden.
Kai Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri also got on the scoresheet, while Myles Lewis-Skelly imitated Haaland’s famous meditation pose celebration.
When asked about the 18-year-old youngster’s celebration, Arteta said: ‘I don’t know, I haven’t seen that and there’s nothing that I want to discuss about that.
‘Down to the players, but they know my view on it and we have to focus on us.
‘We have to focus on us and leave anything that happens. It’s part of the game on the pitch. Whatever happens there, I think we’ve been in football a long time, just leave it, there’s nothing there to do.’
