Former Bournemouth forward Jordan Chiedozie is in a coma after being involved in a car accident on the M27.
The 30-year-old, who was on Bournemouth’s books from 2007 to 2012 but never made his senior debut for the club, played for non-league side Bashley FC against Tavistock at the weekend.
On the way back from that away game, Chiedozie and Bashley physio Reighan Taylor suffered a flat tyre while driving on the motorway.
As the player stepped out to assess the situation, he was struck by another vehicle and had to be rushed to hospital with severe injuries.
‘Everyone connected with Bashley Football Club is devastated by the news that our player Jordan Chiedozie is currently in hospital with what is described as “life-changing, and potentially life-threatening” injuries, after a serious car crash,’ said Bashley in a club statement.
