Travis Hunter has revealed he’s made a couple of significant life changes in response to the backlash that he and his fiancée, Leanna Lenee, have received of late.
Lenee and Hunter, the Heisman Trophy winner this past season, have seen their relationship come under scrutiny after a string of incidents in the fall and winter.
In one instance, the pair appeared to get into an argument following the end of a Colorado-Oklahoma game, while Lenee was later criticized for initially sitting as the Colorado star was awarded the Heisman.
Now, the presumptive top-three pick in the NFL Draft has revealed he has largely stopped taking photos.
‘All the haters are messing up for my supporters…I rarely take pictures now cause you never know what they going to do with it,’ he said on The Travis Hunter Show.
Hunter also shared that he recently hired a new security guard.

Lenee said that this incident – after a game vs Oklahoma State – was because a security guard prevented her and other family members of the Buffaloes from going onto the field
‘People scare me, dawg…because you never know who got good intentions,’ he said. ‘Yeah, I got a new security guard. I walk around with security.’
Hunter also revealed that he has remained off of social media after deleting his Instagram account in December.
Notably, Hunter and Lenee made their first public appearance together in about three weeks when they graced the red carpet of Sports Illustrated ‘s annual award show earlier this month.
But it was a hectic stretch for the couple beginning with the Oklahoma game. Both of them have maintained the viral clip was taken out of contest, with Lenee saying it stemmed from a security guard preventing her and other Buffaloes family members from going onto the field.
Weeks later, as Hunter won the Heisman, Lenee was the only member of his delegation sat near the stage that did not jump to their feet after he was announced as the winner. Colorado head coach Deion Sanders then prompted Lenee to stand, which she did.
The next day, Hunter had a meet and greet with his fans in New York City. While the two-way football star was taking pictures with a smile, Lenee looked upset.
‘What do you want me to do… I’ll just sit here then,’ she seemed to say.
Hunter then appears to suggest that she could leave if she felt like it, with the video catching him saying, ‘You could go to the hotel, you can walk around…’

Lenee said that in this moment, she wasn’t mad at Hunter for taking photos with a woman – saying that woman worked for Adidas and that she wanted to know what their plans were
Lenee explained that she was misheard in that scenario, that she had no problem with the people that took pictures with him – and that the video captured his interaction with Adidas employees, not fans.
Hunter has also vehemently defended Lenee, and he later revealed that she cried herself to sleep after all of the negative criticism and abuse she had received online.
Hunter told people to stop targeting her, specifically calling out ‘clickbait’ pages, social media accounts, and websites.
Around Christmas, some even questioned if Lenee had been faithful to Hunter during their relationship after an old clip resurfaced of her dancing on someone who was not her Heisman Trophy-winning beau.
In response to Lenee’s implied infidelity, Hunter deleted his Instagram. Lenee later did as well.
Hunter is expected to be one of the first, if not the first name to be called in the NFL Draft on April 25.
