Ben Brereton-Diaz only wants to consider a loan move to Sheffield United should he leave Southampton this window.
Other clubs are in for the Chile international striker but he is happy to stay and see out the season at Southampton if a move to Bramall Lane does not materialise.
The 25-year old knows United well having played there previously – enjoying a successful spell where he scored six goals in 14 games last year – and is open to linking up with Chris Wilder on a short-term basis as they push to earn promotion from the Championship.
Brereton-Diaz and his partner are also expecting a baby, so he does not want to unsettle his family life.
He wants familiarity and stability so he knows Sheffield United can provide that should he step away from the South Coast.
Otherwise he is more than happy to stay, see out the season at Southampton, then assess his options in the summer.

Chris Wilder’s side are bidding for promotion back to the Premier League at the first opportunity
Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers are among the other sides who are showing interest in the forward who signed a four-year deal when he returned to England last summer after a stint with Villarreal in La Liga.
Brereton-Diaz has failed to score in any of his 13 appearances for the Saints so far this term.
Sheffield United are third in the Championship table, and only a point off leaders Leeds as the Yorkshire club chase promotion back to the Premier League at the first opportunity.
Ivan Juric’s Southampton are meanwhile struggling against relegation already, stuck at the bottom of the Premier League table on six points.
