Construction businesses asked to take breaks in January to focus on key areas of health and safety.
The Construction Eployers Federation (CE) has released resources for Safety Reboot 2025, the month long health and safety initiative taking place throughout January. The initiative aims to encourage construction businesses across Northern Ireland to stop work for about 15 minutes, once a week throughout January, to take time to focus on key areas of health and safety.
The resources should be used to start conversations and interactions between the workforce on issues encountered everyday on site. The core resources include a question pack on each topic to encourage discussion and a discussion aid to assist the person facilitating the stoppage. The resources include
- logo and graphics
- question packs
- discussion aids
- wellbeing videos
- posters
Posters for each topic have been developed to make the initiative more visible on site throughout January. Each poster also contains a QR code which links to the resource for that subject. CEF has also partnered with Hollywood Fitness on a series of engaging short videos focussing on improving wellbeing.
Businesses are encouraged to get involved and to use these short stoppages as a time for staff and sub-contractors to really engage with each other on the important topics. Safety Reboot is an opportunity to showcase how the construction sector takes the health and safety of their workforces seriously.
