Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters are tackling a fire at a takeaway in Holloway, north London.
The whole of the ground floor of the building on Seven Sisters Road is alight, the London Fire Brigade said on Thursday morning.
There are flats above the restaurant and the cause of the fire is unknown.
Ten fire engines and 70 firefighters attended a separate fire in West Hampstead in north London, also on Thursday morning
Speaking at the scene in Holloway, Station Commander Mike Watts said: “There are road closures in place and we urge people to avoid the area, particularly as we head into rush hour, due to congestion in the area.
“The fire is producing a lot of smoke in the vicinity and local residents are advised to keep their windows and doors closed while we work to bring the fire under control.”
