Chelsea are set to add yet another hugely-promising prospect to their academy in Mathis Eboue, with the Premier League club in talks with Watford over compensation for the 15-year-old son of former Arsenal and Ivory Coast right back Emmanuel.
In further proof of the Blues’ push to secure the best young talent from home and abroad, Mail Sport has had it confirmed that conversations are currently ongoing with the Hornets over a fair fee for Eboue’s relocation to Cobham.
The teenaged attacker has been playing in higher age groups for Watford, including their Under-21s, for whom he has scored despite still only being 15.
Last month also saw Eboue net the winner for England’s Under-16s in a 1-0 victory over France which saw the Young Lions win the U16 Challenge Trophy title in Spain.
The youngster is now in line to continue his pathway towards professional football at Cobham, with the switch subject to the Premier League’s five-step process which applies to all movements where compensation is payable.
The process acts as a deterrent to prevent clubs from breaching the Youth Development Rules, with one of those steps involving an independent third party being appointed to conduct exit interviews with the player’s parents and/or guardians as well as both clubs.

Its purpose is to identify any conduct which might constitute a breach, such as for tapping up.
The player can join his new club once the authorities are satisfied all is legitimate with this investigation usually taking around three weeks to complete.
Chelsea have snapped up other youngsters from academies in England, such as Zak Sturge and Shim Mheuka from Brighton.
The clubs could not come to an agreement on compensation in those cases and so they went to a tribunal, which resulted in Chelsea paying £900,000 rising to £3.4m for Sturge and £1m rising to £4.25m for Mheuka, who was only 14 years old when he made the move.
