Patrick Mahomes appeared to injure his left leg after planting it awkwardly during the Chiefs’ game against the Buccaneers on Monday night.
As he darted forward with the ball and stopped to flip it to Samaje Perine in the end zone, the Chiefs quarterback’s left leg suddenly jarred and left him in clear discomfort at the start of the fourth quarter.
Mahomes then had to be helped off the field after suffering the bizarre injury at Arrowhead Stadium.
However, it was eventually confirmed that he would be returning to the game despite suffering a reported ankle injury.
