- Neil Townley has got millions of views on Instagram
- Has a solution to one of fans’ biggest gripes about the footy
An AFL-obsessed tradie who got sick of the high prices footy fans are forced to pay for something as simple as a pie and chips has come up with a tasty and cheap solution in pizza form.
Neil Townley – whose antics on the field have notched up millions of views on his Prune Masters Instagram page – has created a range of pizzas with classic Aussie toppings so fans can eat footy food at home and save themselves a packet.
The 67-year-old’s meat pie, hot dog and dim sim pizzas re-create the sort of tucker fans love getting into at the stadium, but instead of forking out a shocking amount, they can be had for just $10.
‘I’ve been playing local footy my whole life and I know how important the game is to people,’ Townley said.
‘With everything getting more pricey, I wanted to create something that still lets people enjoy those classic footy flavours without breaking the bank.’
‘Towners’ also came up with the idea of surrounding the pizzas with hot chips to give footy fans even more value, and you can find his creations at Bubba Pizza.
His drive to bring the bain-marie from the country’s footy stadiums into Aussies’ lounge rooms comes after this year’s AFL Fans Association Report found that 35 per cent of supporters planned to spend less on food and drink at games due to high prices.
Footy-mad Neil Townley – who is still playing hard at the age of 67 – got fed up with the high price of food at the footy and decided to do something about it

‘Towners’ has 53,000 Instagram followers and has racked up millions of views with his antics as he revs up his senior footy teammates
Almost 30 per cent of fans said they would take their own food and drink instead of copping a hit to their hip pocket nerve when they watch their team play.
Townley’s Prune Masters videos have won him almost 53,000 followers as he shares his boundless enthusiasm for the game.
Hailing from Carrum Downs in Melbourne’s south-east, the player/coach seems to specialise in motivational talks that err on the blunt side and feature his catch phrase when he sees a piece of play he likes: ‘That was Cherry Ripe!’
